Meet the Doctors

Robert J. Duggan, DPM

Dr. Robert Duggan is board certified in podiatry and podiatric surgery with more than 36 years of diverse experience. He graduated from Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his residency at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center. He provides a wide variety of services including prevention and treatment of sports related injuries, diabetic foot management, and limb preservation.

Alfred Geissele, MD

Dr. Alfred Geissele is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in spinal disorders in both children and adults. His areas of interest include back and neck pain, ruptured discs, fractures in the aging spine, spondylolisthesis, sacroiliac joint disorders, and scoliosis in children and adults.

Christopher Houdek, DO

Dr. Christopher Houdek is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who completed his fellowship in sports medicine at the Detroit Medical Center. He helped care for the Detroit Red Wings, Pistons, and Tigers. He has advanced training in sports medicine, ACL reconstruction, cartilage restoration, shoulder instability and rotator cuff repair, shoulder arthroplasty and arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder.

P. Ross Jenkins, DPM

Dr. Ross Jenkins is a native of North Carolina. He has been treating patients in Lenoir, NC since 1999. He provides comprehensive medical and surgical care of the foot and ankle. In addition to surgical correction of painful bunions, hammertoes and other forefoot ailments he performs complex reconstructive surgical procedures.

Jeffrey Keverline, MD

Dr. Keverline graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh. He attended Temple University Medical School and completed his orthopedic residency at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA. Special interests include sports medicine, arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder, joint replacement of the hip, knee and shoulder, including the new reverse shoulder replacement, and hand surgery such as carpal tunnel release.

Ralph Maxy, MD

Dr. James Maxy is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in treating adult and pediatric spinal disorders. His interests include the use a variety of techniques including minimally invasive lumbar laminectomy and fusion procedures. His practice encompasses the treatment of a wide variety of spinal conditions including scoliosis, lumbar degenerative disorders, disc herniations, and spinal neoplasm.

Joshua Smith, MD

Dr. Joshua Smith is a dual fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hand, shoulder and elbow. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Medical Association and a candidate member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. After earning his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, Dr. Smith completed his residency at Indianapolis-based Indiana University Medical Center. He then underwent fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery at Prince of Wales and Concord Hospitals in Sydney, Australia, and hand and upper extremity surgery at UPMC Hamot. Dr. Smith is a Lexington, NC native.

James Stanislaw, MD

Dr. James Stanislaw graduated magna cum lade from the University of Notre Dame where he was Phi Betta Kappa and president of the premedical honor society. He earned his medical degree at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Stanislaw is board certified with American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He's dedicated to bringing the latest proven advances and highest possible success rates in joint replacements, hand surgery, and sports medicine/arthroscopic surgery.

Justin Walker, MD

Dr. Justin Walker is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the hand and upper extremity. He provides a wide variety of services including treatment of carpal tunnel, trigger finger, Dupuytren’s, rotator cuff injuries, arthritis of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and fingers. He also performs tendon / ligament / fracture / nerve repair of the shoulder, elbow, wrist and fingers. Dr. Walker received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee prior to receiving his MD from the University of Tennessee at Memphis. He completed his residency at Palmetto-Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, SC and a fellowship at Indiana Hand and Shoulder Center in Indianapolis, IN. Dr. Walker is a board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

Duane Moise, DO

Duane M. Moise, DO is a Board Certified Gastroenterologist who diagnoses and treats digestive disorders, such as stomach pain, ulcers, reflux, constipation, and Crohn’s disease. He received his medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and has been in practice for over 20 years. Dr. Moise performs procedures at Prime that include Upper Endoscopies, Colonoscopies, Colon Cancer Screening, and polyp biopsy and removal.

Jason Norcross, MD
Dr. Jason Norcross is a fellowship-trained adult reconstruction surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement surgery. He has become one of the nation's top experts in the field of robotic-assisted surgery, and provides training to other orthopaedic surgeons learning this technology. Dr. Norcross has developed a reputation for being compassionate, humble, personable, and completely dedicated to serving his patients. Dr. Norcross completed Medical School at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. This was followed by an internship and residency program at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston,Texas.
